second post

in as many days.

i feel amazing.

or maybe the last post was two days ago..

whatever the case; im back!

i went to schertz today.

with marlon.

i thought it would be a waste...

but lo and behold, it turns out it made my week.

tea is sweet at texas land and cattle. 

and my waitress was dang gorgeous.

that's what made me week; or rather, seeing an old friend! :)

terrible blogger

i can go on and on about how im the worst blogger..

but since i doubt anyone is reading this, and it's mostly for documenting purposes, i won't bother.

(i am the worst blogger. ever. period)

lots of things.

first, i finished a new and improved version of my website.

after about 15 hours of solo work + 1 hour of help from mr winfield little, my site is ready.

now i am starting (for real this time) a massive campaign to improve my portfolio.

so i haven't updated this blog in a long while. 

im making a bad habit of not doing it..not purposefully, of course!

i miss a certain friend. 

i haven't talked to her in like two months, and it's making me really sad. 

i think im losing this friend.

this is a friend that i DIDN'T want to lose, that i hoped could have lasted a good while.

i don't want to say "oh well" - im just going to say "i really, really, really hope everything works out for the better."

i've been home alone for the last week, till monday. it's been great. lot's of time to think................yeah.

on monday.

it took us (tara and i) two and a half hours.

that right there made me happy.

actually, i don't remember quite exactly what all has transpired. 

i've come to the realization that im the worst blogger there is.

but i do like to twitter!

i had this WEIRD dream last night.

i had this dream that i was building my website..

and then i took it to.................tara's mom to critique it.

HOW WEIRD IS THAT? 

i haven't even talked to that girl in like, two weeks.

how is it possible that i had a dream about her?

it was just..weird.

im getting my 85mm f/1.8 fixed, hopefully today.

and i almost wanted to switch to canon; and then realized that their autofocus SUCKS on the 5d mk II (the equivalent of my d700).

i won't lie, though; i wish nikon had put a scroll wheel (iPod like) on the back of my d700..

and hd video at your disposal is a SIMPLE PHENOMENAL.

anyways.

i have a baseball game to take pictures at.

get to see my favorite person now. ;) 

im such a nerd, seriously

so, my phone wasn't working earlier today.

i made the fatal mistake of trying to update my iphone to 3.0 a few months too early.

anyways, here's the story, for those who care.

iphone update 3.0.

it is supposed to come out in june, and it WILL BE free, then.

it was announced yesterday, march 17. 

anyways, me being the geek that i am, really, really wanted to use it before it actually came out.. so i just kinda rushed it. my friend matt teased me, and i couldn't take it - i just had to get it. so he sent me the file. and i updated my phone to 3.0. but then it turns out you need to be a registered developer for the update to work. apparently when you register as a developer, you also register your iphone through some serial number, and then they know that only those registered iphones can work with the BETA 3.0 update. well, they don't tell you this until AFTER you've updated, and rendered your iphone USELESS. so either, im without a phone, or i pay $107. so i had to pay the $107 now, to get what is essentially a free update in three months. -_-

anyways.

i finally got it back to working, and now im running the BETA 3.0 update.

here are a few of my new favorite updates.

spotlight search: available across all applications. systemwide search available from main home screen by flicking to the left. sweet!

cut, copy, and paste!!: also available across all apps. just shake to undo or redo

landscape keyboard: available in all key apps, including mail and sms (now called messaging). MMS: you can send and receive photos right over the network. contacts (vcard). audio files. or even your location. im not sure if you'll need to add another plan to your bill; hopefully not! 

call logs: much better than what they had before; and now they actually show outgoing AND incoming calls.

there are a few more updates that i am really excited about, that i haven't been able to access yet.

such as...

- PUSH FREAKING NOTIFICATIONS. and not the crappy ones that drain your battery. they now just go through a 3rd party server, and then they're pushed onto apple's cloud, and then to your phone, almost instantaneously. 

- voice memos. (i was actually too lazy to try that out)

- shake to shuffle, like the latest generation ipod nanos. 

- safari anti-phishing. 

- ability to send multiple photos through an email at once. (i couldn't figure out how to do this if my depended on it)

disappointed shoots

i was supposed to be shooting a famous danilo montero this saturday..

sadly, that had to be postponed, because of the weather out in houston this weekend. 

oh well.

i set up a shoot out in california this summer.

a wedding, in temecula, california (between san diego and los angeles). 

i mean, seriously.

look at this, really. 

that kind of throws a wrench in my internship plans with mr chase jarvis, out in seattle.

we'll see how that works out, though.

i hope to update this more often, as time and discipline permit, of course. 

why don't i post more often?

i don't know.

im a rather busy person.

but this week i've had interesting conversations about homosexuality, beastiality, and then of course freemasonry.

ahhh.

i love facebook, and the fact that i can talk about this openly, and argue and disagree with a person, even if they are wrong/right and im not.

i keep having this dream.

im not sure if it's a good dream or bad dream.

but it goes like this:

im just living my life, around the house..

and my mother suddenly appears in it.

and i wake up sobbing, cause i know it's not real, it's a dream.

it's sad, i think.

dislocated body parts

yep.

i dislocated my shoulder.

IT FREAKING HURT, let me assure you of that.

so im taking pictures at the softball tournament, at cornerstone, and one of the pitchers - carolyn - asked me to warm up with her...kinda.

of course i agree and do it.

as we've been tossing the ball for a while, she encourages me to throw it as hard as i can.

hesitant, i tell her i don't know if i can control it, and where it'll end up; she finally convinces me, though, and i throw it as hard as i can.

BAM. crack, crackle, crunch.

OOOOOOOOWWWW.

so much pain.

excruciating pain! you don't even know; there aren't words to describe the pain i went through for the next three hours.

after much discussion, it was decided that no one at cornerstone was capable (or legally allowed) to pop it back in, and i had to go to texas med clinic. 

alec, a friend of isaiah, kindly drove me, and helped me fill out some paperwork.

anyways.

down to the good stuff.

about an hour later, they let me in, and the doctor tells me (in a nutshell): look, we can't give you any medicine before we pop it back in place. you can thank the state legislature for just passing a law stating we're not allowed to give medicine out for these types of procedures.

basically, i was screwed. 

i get my shirt off, per doctor's orders, and they instruct me to lay face first on the bed.

mind you, every move i make rockets pain through my entire shoulder, arm, and forearm. 

so when the doctor started tying a 50 pound weight to my shoulder and arm, you can imagine i wasn't too ecstatic! 

anyways, those next ten minutes were quite honestly, the most painful i have ever been in my life.

i was screaming non stop. oooowww.

i have an idea

that would be so cool, if it actually came into fruition.

tim duncan, spurs basketball star, two-time nba MVP, four-time champion, great all around guy.

betcha didn't know that tim duncan didn't start playing basketball till he was 14.

huh?

yeah, thought so.

up until then, tim duncan trained for the olympics..

get this, as a swimmer.

then a hurricane came along, and destroyed the pool, so the team moved to the ocean (virgin islands) to train; tim duncan, however, was afraid of sharks, so he quit swimming, and decided to pick up basketball.

and that is where my idea comes in.

i want to do a shoot that involves tim duncan playing basketball...in an empty pool.

or a full pool - im not sure on that part yet.

i think it would be so awesome,  and he'd love it - IF I COULD LAND THE JOB.
